A big thank you to everyone who attended our fourth annual Industry Tourism Summit last Thursday. This event is one of Yarra Ranges Tourism's key industry , where we share with our key strategies, activities and achievements over the past year.

Once again we had a fantastic turn up with over 150 registered delegates. It was also a chance for many to see the new Box Hill Institute Lilydale Lakeside Campus.

Event though their attraction is close to full capacity, Puffing Billy Railway are embarking on a huge masterplan to double their visitor numbers in the future. Learn about their investment program and the key support needed from the State Government to see this plan to fruition. The project needs all our support to ensure it is not overlooked for funding in future state budgets.

Simon delivered a marketing update on the organisations activities, highlighted key consumer trends relevant to all Tourism Partners, explored the role of Familiarisations, our Mid-Week Mini-Break Dandenong Ranges Campaign and shared the results of our recent digital marketing initiatives.

Leveraging Public Relations Activities, Brook Powell, Yarra Ranges Tourism

The role of generating great content is a major component of our digital strategy. This was explored at a practical level by Brook, including how she uses Partner profiles for attracting media visits, developing social content and Blogs.

Having cemented itself into our Regional Events Calendar, Andy shared the experiences of Cyclingtips.com.au in identifying a truly iconic ride to share with their online community that takes in Warburton, Marysville and the closest Alpine ascent to Melbourne Mt Donna Buang.
